In my travels on social media this week, I read all the expected “my goals for the New Year” posts and paid very close attention to specific posts asking women what they are hoping for in 2025.
Among all the usual resolutions of losing weight, getting in better shape, learning new hobbies, two very specific themes repeated again and again.
Goal 1: Giving fewer f*cks
Goal 2: Tearing down the patriarchy
To test to see if this is really resonating with women, I quickly posted the Thread below. As you can see, it received over 2.1k likes and many comments and shares.

It’s clear women are done with patriarchal systems that abuse them and, consequently, have no energy, time or patience (no f*ucks) for nonsense in support of these broken systems.
I believe we are seeing a revolt against abusive dynamics where men hold power and control over women. This is playing out in relationships, families and the workplace. And, as we can expect, many men aren’t pleased with these shifts in power.
I’ve lived within abusive systems and have strived my entire life to free myself of these dynamics and create a home and work environment where I can feel safe and thrive.
Over and over again, I have run into toxic power and control dynamics in the workplace. As someone who worked so, so hard to get my PhD and achieve at a very high level, I eventually reached my no f*ucks to give era and left ALL the power dynamics and office politics to create my own businesses. This has been the most empowering, freeing, financially successful decision I have made in my life.
So, in the spirit of tearing down the patriarchy and giving zero fucks, here are 25 goals for women in 2025 who are considering breaking free from toxic, abusive power and control workplaces.
Stop doing other people’s work (because somehow it always lands on our plates)
- Start that business you’ve been dreaming about .
- Charge what you’re actually worth (and add 20% for all the years you didn’t).
- Turn your expertise into a program (because you’re tired of giving it away for free).
- Create income that doesn’t require trading time for money.
The “My Money, My Rules” Goals
- Define success your way (hint: it’s not about climbing any ladders).
- Invest in yourself like you’ve invested in everyone else.
- Set a big revenue/income goal that makes you a little uncomfortable (you have what it takes to achieve it!).
- Create a “freedom fund” (mine is on hold in case Beyonce announces a tour!).
- Price your services based on your expertise and value delivered (not what makes others comfortable).
The “Personal Growth” (aka Finally Doing What You Want) Goals
- Take that class on the topic you’re passionate about.
- Master the art of saying “no” (it’s a complete sentence)
- Write down all of your expertise and celebrate your achievements.
- Travel somewhere that stretches you out of your comfort zone.
- Create your ideal work/life schedule (because you’ve accommodated everyone else forever).
The “Actually About Me” Wellness Goals
- Design work around your energy (not someone else’s arbitrary schedule).
- Create boundaries that stick (and stop feeling guilty about them).
- Move your body your way (because “fitness gurus” are wrong).
- Prioritize rest.
- Make time for what brings you joy.
The “Making My Mark” Goals
- Mentor another woman (because we’re all about pulling each other up).
- Share your life story (the unfiltered version).
- Create solutions to problems that get in your way on the path to success.
- Build something that reflects your interests, passions and values.
- Give approximately zero f*cks about what others think of you (especially at work).
Why These Matter
This isn’t just a wish list. This is about:
- Using your hard-won wisdom
- Trusting your intuition (finally)
- Creating what you want to see in the world
- Building wealth your way
- Doing what works for YOU
Making These Real
Pick three goals from the list above to tackle this year.
For each goal you choose:
- Adapt it to your situation (because you know your life best).
- Break it down into monthly steps (but don’t let perfect be the enemy of started).
- Take one small action this week (any action counts).
- Find your people (they’re out there).
- Track progress your way (because who needs another complicated system?).
Your Permission Slip to Succeed on Your Terms in 2025
Actually, scratch that. You don’t need permission to:
- Start something new
- Change direction
- Set your own schedule
- Define success your way
- Create your own opportunities
- Tell the truth about who you are and what you want.
The world needs more women stepping into their power.
Why? Because we’ve spent enough time adapting to systems that weren’t built for us.
We have no more f*ucks to give and we’re tearing down patriarchy!
2025 is about THAT energy!
A Final Note
If any of these goals make someone uncomfortable, you’re probably on the right track. The best changes often start with making the right people nervous.
In 2025 I’m following my own advice and starting a whole research project on the future of work for women over the age of 40. We’re doing interviews and podcasts and exploring new models of entrepreneurship, work-life synergy, and ways to make positive impact in the world.
If I’m being honest, I am uncomfortable and out of my comfort zone here! But I am going to do this because I’m curious about how women are changing the world and want to empower you to achieve success on your terms.
